The Kakata Magisterial Court has officially cleared Cyrus Idea Konah of all charges in a high-profile criminal case involving allegations of theft and related offenses. Konah, a former resident senator in the office of Margibi County Senator Nathaniel F. McGill, had been suspended from his position indefinitely after a case was filed against him on May 5, 2025.

Following a thorough judicial review that involved weeks of investigation, hearings, and legal issues, the court found insufficient evidence to support the charges. Konah was declared not guilty on all counts, and the court issued an official certificate of innocence.

Speaking to journalists after the ruling, a visibly relieved Konah said, “Justice has finally prevailed,” expressing gratitude for the judicial system and the support he received throughout the ordeal. The court’s decision has been hailed as a testament to the rule of law in Liberia. Supporters of Konah believe his path to public service may not be over, and the ruling has been seen as a broader triumph for justice and the integrity of the legal system.

Konah, a former broadcast sports journalist and guest commentator on the Liberia Broadcasting System, had faced serious allegations, including Theft of Property and Abiding Consumation of Crime. The allegations led to his suspension from his position as resident senator and sparked intense public scrutiny. With the court’s ruling, Konah’s reputation has been vindicated, and his supporters are optimistic about his future in public service.
