Monrovia, Liberia – The Citizens Movement for Change (CMC) has announced a series of key appointments aimed at reinforcing its political structure and deepening its engagement with the Liberian public. According to CMC Political Leader, Musa Hassan Bility, the appointments are part of the party’s ongoing effort to enhance its operational effectiveness across the country.
Journalist Smith Toby has been appointed as the party’s Media Communications and Press Director. Toby brings a wealth of media experience to the role, having previously served as Deputy Presidential Press Secretary under former President George Weah and managed various radio stations, including OK FM and Cape FM.
“I am confident that Smith’s appointment will bolster our communications team with vision and expertise,” Bility said. Henrietta F. Martor has also been appointed as Regional Head for the Bassa Belt, covering Margibi, Grand Bassa, and River Cess counties. Martor’s role is expected to strengthen women’s representation and mobilization in the region. “These appointments are not just positions; they are commitments to serve the Liberian people,” Bility emphasized. “CMC exists solely to serve, act, and lead in the best interest of Liberia. This is not a favor—it is our duty.”
The CMC has recently made significant strides in expanding its political influence, welcoming notable figures such as Melvin Cole, a Bong County District #3 lawmaker who defected from the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), and Alice Tonia Baysah, a former Margibi District #5 representative candidate.
The appointments have been met with optimism from the public, with many Liberians expressing renewed hope in the CMC’s vision for national development and inclusive leadership.
