CDC-USA Chairman Denounces Political ‘Elimination’ Attempt, Vows Lawful Fight

Chairman of the CDC-USA, Success A. B. Dennis, has accused the Liberian government of engaging in a systematic effort to weaken and eliminate the opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) as a political force ahead of the 2029 elections .

The press release, titled “The Process of Elimination,” details a pattern of alleged aggression against the party, including the killing of partisans, targeting of officials, destruction of party headquarters, and what it describes as increasing pressure on the party’s former Vice President .

“At what point does coincidence become a pattern?” Dennis asked, asserting that the CDC can no longer ignore what it sees as a deliberate political campaign to silence the opposition . While reiterating the party’s commitment to democracy and the rule of law, the Chairman delivered a warning to President Joseph Boakai and the ruling Unity Party, stating, “DO NOT MISTAKE OUR PEACE FOR FEAR” . He insisted that the party’s restraint should not be misconstrued as surrender or weakness.

Dennis declared that the CDC is “awake, organized, and mobilizing” for what he termed a “lawful political fight for justice, accountability, democracy, and the future of Liberia” . He emphasized that the party will defend its constitutional rights through every lawful means. Concluding with a firm declaration, he stated, “2029 WILL NOT BE HANDED TO ANYONE ON A SILVER PLATTER,” and declared that the CDC has decided that “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”.
