Former Public Works Minister Ruth Coker Collins is proud to announce the graduation ceremony for the second cohort of the Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA), an initiative proudly sponsored by her foundation. The program which is scheduled for July 19, 2025, in Neezuin Town, Rivercess County has successfully empowered over 1,000 women from Districts #1 and #2 through comprehensive financial training, group savings, and access to small business capital. This graduation ceremony will serve as a platform to honor the achievements of these remarkable rural women, bringing together beneficiaries, community leaders, local authorities, partners, and supporters.

Minister Collins remarked, “This initiative has become a beacon of hope and transformation for women and youth in our community. Through savings, small loans, and collective empowerment, these groups are not only building small businesses but also supporting their families and contributing positively to the local economy.” She emphasized the importance of community transformation, stating, “Together, we can continue to create opportunities and build a better future for all.”

The event promises to inspire the graduating women as they embark on their journeys toward self-sufficiency, leadership, and economic independence. We warmly invite guests to attend and show their support for this grassroots economic empowerment initiative, the organizers noted.
