Mulbah Morlu Survives Alleged Assassination Attempts From Goverment of Liberia

A Liberian coalition, WE THE PEOPLE, has condemned what they describe as a targeted attack on the life of STAND Chairman Mulbah K. Morlu. According to their statement, the incident involved alleged operatives from the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Liberia National Police (LNP).

The group claims two separate assassination attempts occurred on May 5 and May 7, 2025, where Morlu’s life was allegedly threatened. They attribute these actions to the current administration’s desperation to silence dissent ahead of a planned nationwide peaceful resistance on July 17.

WE THE PEOPLE asserts that these attempts will not deter their plans for the protest, emphasizing their commitment to defending democracy and the rule of law. They have issued a list of demands to President Boakai, including adherence to Supreme Court rulings, economic reform, and improved living conditions for Liberians.

The group warns that if their demands are not met, they will proceed with their planned protest, asserting their resolve to stand against what they perceive as growing authoritarianism.
