The Implementation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (IUDHR), operating under the UN Charter, has announced the appointment of Ambassador Dr. Marie Scott Wilson as Director General and Ambassador of Continent for its Africa Chapter.

In an official directive issued from its Africa headquarters, the organization confirmed that Dr. Wilson, a recognized Global Human Rights Advocate and Consultant, will assume the highest diplomatic echelon within the IUDHR’s continental structure. She also serves as Co-Founder Chair of the Global Peace and Human Rights Advocacy Network.

As Director General and Ambassador of Continent for Africa, Dr. Wilson will serve as chief diplomatic executive and principal representative for IUDHR operations across all African nations and regional bodies. Her mandate includes overseeing the establishment, coordination, and strategic governance of all national and district chapters within the African continent. Additionally, she will lead high-level engagement with heads of state, government ministries, the African Union, and international stakeholders to advance universal human rights standards, while spearheading macro-level peacebuilding, human rights advocacy frameworks, and social inclusion policies on a continental scale.

In a parallel development, the IUDHR announced that it has formally entered into a Global Strategic Partnership with the Global Justice, Peace and Human Rights Advocacy Network (GJPHRAN) and Global Action Force Network ( GAFN ). The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between international human rights instruments and local accountability, reinforcing the mission to make human rights a daily reality for all individuals.

The organization emphasized that the IUDHR is an independent American non-profit organization and is not a subsidiary or agency of the United Nations. It further reiterated its commitment to a zero-fee policy for all memberships, volunteer opportunities, and official roles.

“Together, we remain dedicated to the principles of peace, security, and prosperity,” the directive stated.
