The Panoramic Justice Group has officially announced its endorsement of the ENOUGH IS ENOUGH protest, scheduled for July 17. This protest, organized by Solidarity and Trust for a New Day (STAND) and the WE THE PEOPLE Movement, aims to highlight pressing concerns regarding governance and human rights in Liberia. Recent reports have surfaced alleging human rights abuses and potential violations of both U.S. and international law by officials within the Liberian government. These allegations include instances of torture and coercion, as well as attempts to recruit individuals to provide false testimony. The Panoramic Justice Group is demanding a thorough investigation into these serious allegations against Liberian government officials. Key figures implicated include National Security Adviser Samuel Kofi Woods, Inspector General of Police Gregory Coleman, and Minister of Justice Oswald Tweh, who are accused of torturing Andrew Lawson and Albert Weah to extract false statements regarding the Capitol building fire. Additionally, security officials allegedly attempted to coerce John Nyanti into fabricating lies, which he refused to do. Furthermore, Cllr. Varney Sherman, a U.S.-sanctioned individual and a close associate of President Boakai, has controversially taken on the role of legal counsel for the majority bloc, despite explicit instructions to refrain from engaging with sanctioned individuals. In light of these troubling allegations, the Panoramic Justice Group is calling for a comprehensive investigation. The organization intends to engage with U.S. government agencies, including the Department of Justice and the Department of State, to explore potential actions that could be taken in response to these issues.
